Materials & Care
Gold Plated Jewelry
Gold plating is a method of coating the surface of a base metal with a layer of gold using an electric current. This jewelry type looks just like gold, but comes at a fraction of the cost of real gold. The gold plating itself is hypoallergenic. For the base metal, sterling silver is widely recognized as the most hypoallergenic material.
Gold Vermeil Jewelry
Gold vermeil uses the same method of coating as gold plating. The difference is that the base metal in gold vermeil is always sterling silver, and that the gold layer must be at least 2.5 microns thick. Gold vermeil jewelry is usually more expensive than gold plated jewelry, but can last longer because of the base metal and the thickness of the gold layer.
Gold Filled Jewelry
Gold filled jewelry is created under a process of sandwiching the base metal between two gold layers using heat and pressure. It is more durable than gold plated, but will still need to be taken care of to elongate its lifetime. It typically comes at a higher price tag than gold plated & vermeil due to the higher gold content.
What We Offer
Our mission is to bring sustainable delicacy to everyday lives. So being affordable and hypoallergenic are as important as quality and style to us. While most of our products are gold vermeil and gold plated on sterling silver & brass, we hope to bring in more gold filled pieces to give our customers more options as we grow.
Care Instructions
Our products do not rust or tarnish, but please note that water and perfume can shorten the life span as they are not solid gold. If you can, please clean your jewelry using warm water, mild soap and a soft cloth to wipe away debris after every wear. Storing your jewelry in a dry dark place helps it to last longer, too.
